Despite several neutralizations, Herberth Motorsport reigned supreme in a chaotic six-hour race at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

“In the end we had so many Code 60s we could make it to the end [with fuel]”, said Hartog, “Fair play to everyone, this was really a team victory – we did well along the way. It’s been really fun to be honest, we managed to seize the opportunity and do well.” said Hartog.
For Huub van Eijndhoven, it was his first race in the GT3 category, and as a driver of the #10 crew he sealed his debut in the best possible way.
Au added: “It’s all about the people, we have a great team, great drivers, and this was Huub’s first GT3 race – I’m glad we started him on the right track! Ten years ago I started my racing career, literally to this very day. That was a P2 then, this is a P1, so it’s a good step!”
In a “silver” second place finished last year’s winners, the BMW of WRT #669 driven by Parker Thompson, Daniel Harper, and Anthony McIntosh. Third place went to the #25 crew of Dragon Racing International.
In the overall championship standings, Herberth Motorsport #10 currently leads with 76 points. Second, 18 points behind, is Origine powered by CC #87, while Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport sits third with 69 points.
The 992 class (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup) was won by QMMF by HRT Performance #974. The GT4 category was claimed by Cerny Motorsport #445.
The 24H Series Middle East Trophy will move to its finale next weekend at the Dubai circuit, where the race will be contested over the full 24 hours.
