After Japan’s Fuji round, the series moves to the Bahraini desert for the season finale. In the battle for the Constructors’ title, Ferrari leads the standings with a 39-point advantage over Porsche — though Cadillac, currently on 143 points, remains a dark horse.
As for the Drivers’ Championship, it’s expected to be a showdown between the red Ferrari #51 crew — Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado, and Alessandro Pier Guidi — and the Le Mans winners Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye, and Phil Hanson. The gap between them is just 13 points.
Everything will be decided on the 5.412 km-long circuit, where Hypercars will exceed 300 km/h on the straights. Brakes and tyres will be under extreme stress, and reliability could play a key role over the eight-hour race.
The LMGT3 class is also incredibly tight, with just 11 points separating the leading #92 Manthey team and the #21 Vista AF Corse car.

At the end of the weekend, we’ll also say goodbye to motorsport legend and 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, who is retiring from professional racing. According to him, he wants to dedicate more time to his family: "I've really enjoyed my time with the Jota team in the WEC but my life has become too hectic and it wouldn't be fair to the team or to myself to go into 2026 thinking I'll have enough time for it." "My kids are four and six and when you're away for a week you miss a lot of things - you never get that time back. I feel like I've missed a lot in the last few years, which I didn't mind at the time because I was prepared for it, but I'm not willing to do it again next season," said Janson for BBC Radio Somerset.
