technical designs for 2026, what is new?

The FIA released the new, tenth edition of the regulations for 2026 a few days ago, along with car renderings. However, since the concept from June this year, it has changed in certain parts.

The teams themselves will be able to work on the car for 2026 from the new year.

FRONT WING

The main part of the front wing remains the same, however the end part is slightly changed. The rules are now looser in this area of the wing, so we could have more interesting solutions.

FLOOR

Floors today generate a lot of downforce, in 2026 they should be flatter. The photos show the difference in the leading edge of the floor, which directs the flow.

DEFLECTOR

Compared to the current rules, the deflector has increased significantly

WHEEL COVERS

The wheel covers have also been changed, which involves reducing the size of the cover itself in the middle part of the wheel.

REAR WING

The rear wing must now have at least 3 airfoils, which changes the rules for active aerodynamics, meaning that with three-element rear wings, a pair of flaps behind the main airfoil will be able to be movable.
