Lewis won the Grand Prix after 945 days and became the 9th Great Britain winner.
Even before the start of the race, Pierre Gasly had to retire the car due to a technical problem. After the start, the pair of Mercedes were still leading after a few turns, Max got ahead of Norris in third place. in lap 15, Norris was able to get back to third place, then in lap 17 Oscar Piastri also got ahead of Verstappen, a lap later Lewis Hamilton took the lead at the Stowe corner and managed to overtake teammate Russell. On the 19th lap it started to rain a little and Lando Norris started to follow the Mercedes, in the 4th corner ahead of George Russell and a lap later also ahead of Lewis Hamilton and took the lead in the race. In the same lap, Oscar Piastri also got ahead of Mercedes.

On the 27th lap, it started to rain a lot more and the drivers had to pit for wet tires, Mercedes was not afraid and made a double pitstop, McLaren only sent Lando to the pit and Oscar stayed on the track a lap longer and thus dropped to 6th place. In lap 34, Mercedes lost one car, George Russel had to retire due to a technical problem with his car.

The track started to dry out slowly and on lap 39 the drivers had to pit again, this time for dry tires, Lewis went into the pit but Lando stayed on the track a lap longer, then he had a slower pit stop which cost him some time, after returning to the track he fell behind Lewis and lost more than 3 seconds on it. But Lando already had to look in the rear-view mirrors, because Verstappen was behind him, and he managed to get in front of him
There were only 4 laps left before the end of the race and Lewis was driving for his 104th career victory, the last time he won in 2021 at the GP of Saudi Arabia, but even Max could not catch him and Lewis celebrated victory again after 945 days.
