Lando didn't have a very good start and Oscar got in front of him, Max also tried it from the outside and in the first corner the three drivers came side by side, Max was then pushed off the track and on the way back in front of Norris, but he had to let him in front of him afterwards, because his "return to the track" was investigated by the FIA.
Lewis drove into the pits on lap 17 and tried to undercut Max. Then the McLaren drivers also drove, Max stayed on the track a bit longer and built up in the 22nd lap, he then lined up behind Lewis.
Max started to catch up with Lewis and started to attack him in lap 35, but Max went off the track and Lewis stayed in the front again.
During the second pitstops, Lewis was also the first, and Leclerc with him. Lando didn't drive until lap 46 to cover Lewis, but at the same time he undercut Piastri, who pitted 2 laps later, so Lando took the lead.
Max again stoped later and fell behind Charles Leclerc. Meanwhile, McLaren started begging Norris to let Oscar in front of him, to whom the team promised that Lando would let him go after the pitstops, but Lando didn't like it very much and kept increasing his lead over Oscar.

The pressure was also on Max, who was very upset about his strategy because he lost several positions, but the car wasn't in the best condition either, despite this he managed to get ahead of Leclerc and started to get closer to Lewis as well.
on lap 63, Max got close to Lewis and tried to overtake him on the inside of the first corner, but he locked his front wheels and then there was contact between him and Lewis, which caused his RB20 to lift and he lost the position to Leclerc
in lap 68, the engineer managed to persuade Lando to leave his position to Oscar, so Lando slowed down and allowed himself to be overtaken by Piastri on the finish line.
Oscar Piastri finally achieved his first career victory and at the same time McLaren achieved his first double since Monza 2021. They were joined on the podium by Lewis Hamilton, who won his 200th podium.
