Porsche to Leave WEC at the End of the 2025 Season!
The German sports car manufacturer has announced that it will withdraw from the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the end of the 2025 season. The 8 Hours of Bahrain will mark the team’s final race.
The greatest achievement for Porsche in the modern WEC Hypercar era was undoubtedly last year’s championship title with the #6 car driven by Kevin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, and André Lotterer. Another major highlight was the team’s second-place finish in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Despite this announcement, Porsche will continue to compete in the American IMSA series in the GTP category.
“We very much regret that, due to the current circumstances, we will not be continuing our involvement in the WEC after this season,” said Dr. Michael Steiner, member of the executive board at Porsche AG.
