The Frenchman has extended his contract with the Enstone-based team until at least 2028. This news was announced this morning during the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza — coincidentally, the track where five years ago he claimed his first, and so far only, Formula 1 victory, back then with AlphaTauri.

Pierre made his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso and then moved to Red Bull in 2019, where he only completed 12 races before being dropped and sent back to Toro Rosso, which had in the meantime been rebranded as AlphaTauri. In 2023, however, he switched to Alpine. Since then, he has stepped onto the podium twice: first in the Netherlands, and then at last year’s Brazilian Grand Prix. He will now remain with the French team until at least 2028.

"Flavio’s support and belief in me, François’ commitment to the Formula One project, as well as the people we have in Enstone made this a natural decision.

"I want to be here in years to come and deliver on our joint objective: to win races and world championships. We’re all in this together and I look forward to continuing this special story.” said Gasly

“Since I returned, I have always stated how important it is to build and grow the competitiveness of BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team, we’re well prepared for the new era of Formula 1 beginning in 2026, and now we have our lead driver confirmed.

"Pierre has been an immense asset during this challenging period. I have been very impressed with his attitude, dedication and talent, and we look forward to continuing this project together for a long time.” Briatore said
