For the entire six hours, it was unclear who would stand on the top step of the podium. Despite a strong qualifying session, Peugeot was also in the fight, but poor strategy and a collision shattered their podium hopes. BMW was stopped by technical issues and penalties. However, the cars that remained in the battle until the end were those of the French brand Alpine, and the end of the race turned into a fuel-saving contest. Car #51 had to make a late pit stop to add the fuel necessary to finish the race. Still, after six hours of intense racing, Pier Guidi crossed the checkered flag first, and together with teammates Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado, they claimed their second win in a row. They were joined on the podium by their sister car, #50, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, who had started the race from pole position but had to settle for second place. Finishing third was the Alpine #36 with the crew of Jules Gounon, Frédéric Makowiecki, and Mick Schumacher—marking their second consecutive podium as well.
In the LMGT3 category, the battles were also tight, but in the end, Ferrari celebrated once again. The #21 Ferrari took the victory, followed by the #88 Ford of Proton Competition in second place, and another Ferrari, #54, completed the podium in third.
The next race in the FIA WEC calendar is the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking place June 14–15!
