A weekend in the name of endurance racing

This weekend, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will take place, but in addition to that, races from two prestigious endurance racing series will be held in Europe.

The first one takes place at the Italian Imola circuit in the Emilia-Romagna region as part of the WEC championship. It is already the second WEC race of the year—the first was held in Qatar, and it was dominated by the brand that will be racing its home event this week. And that brand is none other than Ferrari, which secured all three podium positions in the top Hypercar category in Qatar. In the manufacturers' championship, Ferrari currently holds a commanding lead in first place, followed by BMW in second and Toyota in third.

At the same time, we need to closely watch how the new Aston Martin Hypercar performs. The car struggled with initial issues in Qatar, which is understandable given that it’s a completely new vehicle, and it will take some time for the team to fully get to grips with it.

Just before the weekend, it was also announced that McLaren is preparing its return to the top WEC Hypercar category and will once again aim to win the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Additionally, Genesis, which will join the Hypercar category next year, has unveiled its racing livery.

Looking back at last year's race in Imola, it was quite a rainy event, and those who managed to handle the challenging and changeable conditions were the Toyota drivers, who took the victory in the Hypercar category. In LMGT3, it was BMW from the WRT team that came out on top.

The second race is the 12 Hours of Spa, part of the 24H Series championship. It is also the second race of the season, with the first having taken place at Italy's Mugello circuit, where the victory went to the Manamauri Energy by Ebimotors team. You can watch the entire race on YouTube at Creventic Motorsports TV.
