Verstappen denied that he should change the team

Verstappen faced questions in Jeddah if he really wants to change teams and drive for Mercedes next year. However, he denied it and added that "there is no reason" why he would leave. Motorsport.com asked Verstappen if he will honor his contract until 2028.

"Obviously that was always the intention when we signed," Verstappen said. "That's why we signed for as long as we could to be here. Of course, it's about the car's performance, and from 2026 it's a bit of a question mark with the new regulations. But I knew that when I signed the contract and I also know what they have done for me throughout my career. So the intention is to stay in this team because I enjoy it here."

"And I'm also really happy within the team. As long as we perform, there is no reason to leave.”

But at the same time, he did not completely rule out any transfer.

“In life in general, you never know what's going to happen, what's going to happen to you, or what's going to happen around you, or what might affect you. You can never be 100% certain that it will be. This is how I approach my life.”

"But I don't think too much about it either. Like I said, I'm very happy with the team. We have performance. I have no reason to leave.”
